The Franciscan tradition - full of value transmitted down the ages and completely in line with today's context is embodied in the FOCUS acronym and logo. When Fr. Dominic our founder was asking the Lord to lead us into a unified movement - though we had already existed for over a decade as independent groups in Kochi and about 4 years in Bangalore and about 3years in Chennai - it was the transcending missing factor of "UNITY" that was missing in any of the movements of the church - that caught our eyes and by the Spirit's nudging we received the inspiration for the name FOCUS.
Across the history of the church, only one thing stands proved - the much felt need for unity across - cultures, denominations and small christian community groups. This is still the weakest link in the chain. Jesus came to unify not only the lost tribes of Israel but also to unify the scattered sheep - across denominations, cultures people groups and above all He desired and prayed for UNITY within the CHURCH.
We the FOCUS group shall live out that desire of Christ in John 17:21-23 and the need of the Church.
